Calibration Network Miner

STORSWIFT will deploy and operate a production-grade Calibration Network (Calibnet) miner with 250 TB of Quality-Adjusted Power (QAP) backed by real data. The miner uses the Curio storage stack and will be fully deployed within one month of grant approval, remaining operational for the full 12-month grant period. Calibration Network is a critical public testbed for Filecoin protocol upgrades, deal pipelines, and economic simulations. This project adds an independent, economically meaningful storage provider to Calibnet, improving both technical and economic realism for testing and upgrades, and reducing systemic risk to Filecoin Mainnet.

Calibration Network currently suffers from highly concentrated storage power and limited operator diversity. A small number of miners disproportionately influence consensus dynamics, upgrade safety, and testing reliability. This means that Calibnet upgrades and protocol changes are not exercised under realistic, independent, and economically meaningful conditions, increasing systemic risk to Filecoin Mainnet. STORSWIFT's independent Calibnet miner directly addresses this by adding real power, real data, and an independent operator to the network, improving both technical and economic realism for testing and upgrades.

Outputs: Deploy an independent Curio-based miner with 250 TB QAP on Calibnet; maintain continuous operations for 12 months; publish operational metrics. Outcomes: Calibnet achieves greater storage power diversity and more realistic testing conditions. Protocol upgrades and consensus changes are validated against an independent, economically meaningful operator. Metric Impact: By adding 250 TB QAP (25 TB raw) to Calibnet, this project directly increases raw storage onboarded to the testnet. More importantly, it reduces concentration risk and improves the reliability of Calibnet as a pre-Mainnet testing environment, indirectly protecting Mainnet data onboarding from upgrade failures caused by insufficient pre-release testing.

STORSWIFT intends to continue operating the Calibnet miner beyond the initial 12-month grant period. Post-grant sustainability will be pursued through: (1) renewal applications to ProPGF or other Filecoin ecosystem grants, (2) potential revenue from storage deals and partnerships facilitated via miner operations, and (3) STORSWIFT's existing business operations as a professional storage infrastructure company. The operational expertise and infrastructure built during this grant period will lower the cost of continued operation.

STORSWIFT will provide all personnel for miner deployment, operations, monitoring, PoST management, and upgrade participation throughout the 12-month contract term.

Mitigation: redundant monitoring, incident response procedures, and SLOs targeting ≥ 99% uptime with rapid recovery. 2. 3. 2.
